Lady of Grace Fraternity
The Lady of Grace Fraternity is a beautiful not-for-profit registered charity of Italian Catholic heritage, based in Marsfield, Sydney. It was established in 1955 by immigrants from the village of San Giovanni di Gerace in the province of Reggio Calabria, Italy. The traditions of the Fraternity stem from the ancient traditions of the village, and include an annual Festival of Our Lady. The Fraternity offers physical and emotional support to those in our community who are most in need. The Lady of Grace Nursing Home in Dural provides loving care to the elderly and the frail.
La Campana
I have been designing the bilingual magazine La Campana for over a decade! It is a beautiful full-colour glossy magazine.
The cover of each issue features a famous black and white photo of the church bell (la campana) of San Giovanni di Gerace.
The publication has been edited by Josie Howes since its inception over 25 years ago. Her editorial talents are simply awe-inspiring, and she never fails to produce a hearfelt, intelligent, elegant magazine that exactly relates to its readership.
I design the magazine in collaboration with Josie and the advertising manager. I design most of the advertisements.
Anniversary Banners
The annual feast day is always a huge event, and on the 25th anniversary the Fraternity pulled out all the stops!
They commissioned a set of six giant banners to be displayed in the church, depicting the history of the Lady of Grace Fraternity since its inception in the 1950’s.
I recently discovered that they are displayed every year at the Festa… they are becoming part of the local tradition!
Shall we see if we can bring a bit of design magic into the equation?
Holy cards, greeting cards, advertisements
From time to time the Lady of Grace Fraternity needs various collateral such as magazine and newspaper ads, holy cards and greeting cards. I design these for them too.

I belong to an Italian charitable organisation and have worked with Cherie Saxby over the last 12 or so years whilst putting together our annual publication “La Campana”.
